Ángel Reyna played for Chivas from 2014 to 2016, during which he had the opportunity to work with Jorge Vergara. The former Mexican forward believes that the departure of the former Chivas owner has been a fundamental part of the club's current difficult moment, and he considers that the current team owner, Amaury Vergara, falls short in comparison to his father.

"I think Chivas has to get back on top, they have to work and search for formulas to build success again, and this starts from the top, because Jorge Vergara was a phenomenal guy, a winner, with character, courage, values, and everything I can say good about a person, he fulfilled it, and I believe that Amaury still lacks a little more love for football, having more love for the club and knowing that this is football, being more attentive and doing things right, hopefully, God willing, Chivas finds the formula," Reyna said.

Ángel Reyna believes that Chivas is making poor decisions and points out that it would be a serious mistake to leave Marcelo Michel Leaño as the coach of the first team for a longer period of time.

"It is a serious mistake to think that the coach or the head of the youth academy should stay as the coach because he is hired for a position and he must fulfill it, unfortunately, that is what happens in many clubs. Many coaches are in other positions and want to be the coach of the first team, starting with that line of values, it seems to me that they are wrong. I don't know Leaño very well, although I have seen good things about him, but it seems to me that he is very daring for his short coaching career. I believe he has great ideas and I believe in Leaño as a coach, but it is not the right time and not the right way. I think to become the coach of Chivas, he still has to do much more," Ángel Reyna added.

Reyna believes that Chivas would benefit from a coach with a profile like Santiago Solari or the one and only Hugo Sánchez: "With Solari, América is bringing new forms and values and is showing us all on and off the field that there is another level, obviously, he was in the biggest and most important team in the world, which is Real Madrid. We have to learn from these people because they know and they experienced it day by day. I also bring up the case of Hugo Sanchez, who continues to be the best and most important Mexican in sports. So that's what we have to value and learn because characters like these have a lot to teach."
