Mesut Özil, 2014 World Cup champion with Germany, showcased his partnership with Necaxa on social media
Mesut Özil, one of the new owners of Necaxa, showcased on his social media the connection he will have with the Rayos through the companies Al Tylis and Sam Porter, who have experience in investments in the Premier League, NBL, and MLS. The German footballer even invites the general public to become partners with the team.
"Very excited to be part of the group of owners of @ClubNecaxa! And even more excited about the unique NFT we are offering! You can own a part of the team with me!", he wrote on his social media.
"First time in professional sports: this NFT will give you a real 1% stake in the team! Who's in?? Let's be partners!"
According to the BCC, NFT stands for non-fungible token. "NFTs are an "unimitable" asset in the digital world that can be bought and sold like any other type of property, but they do not have tangible form themselves. These digital tokens can be understood as certificates of ownership for virtual or physical assets."
With the above, Ernesto Tinajero and Santiago Tinajero remain as owners of Necaxa. However, Sam Porter and Al Tylis join them.
In addition to Mesut Özil, there are other new investors in Necaxa who are globally recognized: Eva Longoria, Justin Verlander, Kate Upon, Richard Hamilton, Shawn Marion, Victor Oladipo, and Bode Miller.
Al Tylis has investments in DC United of the MLS; Swansea City during its time in the Premier League; New Zealand Breakers in the NLB, as well as eSports.
Meanwhile, Sam Porter holds executive positions in DC United and Swansea City, a team that currently plays in the English Second Division.
EVA LONGORIA ALSO SHOWCASED
On the other hand, Eva Longoria also showcased her membership in the ownership group of Necaxa. The actress uploaded a photo to her social media wearing the Rayos' jersey and cap, and like Mesut Özil, she invited people to invest in the team.
"I feel so proud and delighted, especially because we are going to do REALLY exciting things with this team! To start with, we are auctioning off the first NFT that represents a real 1% interest in a professional sports team. Yes, you heard that right! Be my partner in Club Necaxa in the country I love so much!"
