Tigres Women's Team is in search of its fourth MX League title to consolidate itself as the best team in Mexican soccer and to emulate what teams in the best leagues in the world have done.
The UANL team has become a dominant team like other teams in different leagues around the world, including Barcelona in Spain and Frankfurt in Germany, just to name a few.
The Tigres Women's Team is looking to add another championship to their record, as they will face Chivas in the final of the Guard1anes Clausura 2021 Tournament, with the first leg taking place next Monday, and the second leg on May 31st at the Universitario Stadium.
Tigres Women's Team has won three championships in four years, with the first one in the Clausura 2018 Tournament, defeating Rayadas in the first regia final in the history of women's soccer.
In the Clausura 2019, they were crowned champions once again against Monterrey, and in the Apertura 2020, they repeated the feat against Rayadas to win the club's third championship.
The UANL team has reached several finals and has lost in two occasions, one against América and the other against Rayadas, but they have always been a protagonist in Mexican soccer.
With this, they aim to emulate clubs from other countries in terms of dominating their leagues, such as Barcelona in Spain, who secured their sixth title in the 2020-2021 season.
Barcelona won their first championship in 2012 and has since won three more, in addition to the ones in 2020 and 2021, surpassing Athletic, who has won five since the establishment of the Iberian League in 1988.
In the German league, which is another highly competitive league in the world, Frankfurt has seven championships and six runner-up finishes, while in the Dutch league, the strongest teams are Az Alkmaar and FC Twente, both with three titles each.
In women's soccer, the United States also stands out, with no clear dominant club as North Carolina Courage, Portland Thorns, and Kansas City have each won two titles, surpassing the Tigres Women's Team.
In this way, Tigres Women's Team will seek to reaffirm their dominance in the MX League when they face Chivas in the final of the current tournament, in search of their fourth championship in their history.
