Players reach 200 and 400 matches, respectively, in the Liga MX and the club honors them
The players from Cruz Azul, José de Jesús Corona and Rafael Baca, reached 400 and 200 matches in Liga MX, respectively, in the match against América in the fifteenth round of the Guard1anes 2021. Both players wore a commemorative patch on their shirts to celebrate their number of matches in the Mexican soccer First Division.
Corona and Baca stepped onto the field of the Estadio Azteca with a different shirt than the rest of their teammates. The goalkeeper, who wore red, sported a patch in the center of his chest with the inscription: "Chuy Corona 400 league matches".
On the other hand, the midfielder wore the patch on the traditional home shirt of Cruz Azul, in the same location as the goalkeeper's gear. "Rafael Baca 200 league matches".

Corona made his debut in the Liga MX on February 15, 2003, wearing the Atlas shirt. A year later, he moved to Tecos, a team he played for five years, until signing with Cruz Azul in 2009.
Baca, who made his debut in the Liga MX on April 18, 2014, has only defended the colors of Cruz Azul during his time in Mexican soccer, having previously played for the San Jose Earthquakes in the MLS.
