New praises for Antonio Valencia. This time it was the turn of Héctor Altamirano, coach of the Gallos Blancos de Querétaro. The Mexican highlighted the professionalism of the Ecuadorian footballer and stated that he wants to "build the team around him," in addition to highlighting his leadership role within the squad.
"Antonio Valencia is an exceptional footballer, with incredible quality, a professional, and a great teammate in every sense of the word," Altamirano began saying in an interview with the Excelsior newspaper.
"A guy who arrives first and leaves last, who is always willing to work, who guides the young players, and that has allowed us to assign him other tasks that allow us to grow as a team," he added.
The "Amazonian Train" made its debut with an assist in the last match of the Clausura 2021, in the 2-0 victory over Pumas.
Finally, the Mexican strategist valued the leadership role that Valencia can play in the team he coaches. "He assumes that natural role with a lot of commitment and humility, we are trying to build the team around him so that he can help us and continue to show the quality he still has," he concluded.
