Welcome to Xolos de Tijuana, Junior Sornoza!
The Mexican club Xolos de Tijuana made the formal signing of Ecuadorian midfielder Junior Sornoza for one year, with the option to buy when the loan contract with Corinthians ends in December 2021.
Sornoza, whose rights belong to the most popular team in Sao Paulo, played on loan for Liga Deportiva Universitaria de Quito until December 2020, without reaching an agreement for contract renewal with the club.
"Welcome to the coolest border in the world, Junior Sornoza! Welcome to Tijuana!" Xolos posted on their Twitter account.
The Liga MX club described the Ecuadorian international as "a skillful player with good ball control and creativity in attack".

Sornoza has a contract with Corinthians until the end of 2022, but the Sao Paulo club already has players in his position such as Luan, Meteus Vital, and also Ecuadorian Juan Cazares.
The Brasileirao team also has the maximum of five foreign players allowed in their squad, as in addition to Cazares, they have Chilean midfielder Ángelo Araos, Colombian midfielder Víctor Cantillo, Uruguayan defender Bruno Méndez, and Venezuelan playmaker Rómulo Otero.
Corinthians acquired Sornoza's federative rights in early 2019, and the Ecuadorian midfielder, who shone in 2017 and 2018 at Fluminense also in Brazil, played 46 matches with Timão's shirt, scoring one goal and winning a Campeonato Paulista.
The midfielder born in Portoviejo arrives in Tijuana as a reinforcement for the Guard1anes 2021 tournament of Mexican football, which starts on Friday, January 8.
He will coincide with his compatriots Fidel Martínez, Bryan Angulo, and Jordan Rezabala in the squad.
The team led by Argentine Pablo Guede makes its debut today hosting Pumas de la UNAM at home at 22:06 (Ecuador time). (D)
