Julio César Domínguez, Cruz Azul defender, stated that reaching the milestone of 551 games played with the team, a record tied with Ignacio Flores as the players with the most matches played in the history of the institution, is a source of pride and the result of the work he has done for nearly 15 years.

"I feel proud and happy to reach a milestone like Nacho Flores. I met him, we talked several times. This is constancy, perseverance, and professionalism. The support of my family has been essential in the 15 years I've been here. Thanks to the coaching staff, I've been able to play, as well as my teammates and the management," said the defender in a press conference.

He also emphasized that it was a good detail to achieve the objective in the playoffs and with a solid match like the one they had yesterday at the Estadio Universitario.

"I'm happy and excited about the personal milestone I achieved. Yesterday's match was very good. I won't talk too much, there are 90 minutes left, and we must approach it like we did yesterday. Let people have faith in us, we will work hard to win next Sunday," he said.

He also mentioned that throughout these 551 games, he has experienced bitter moments, and recalled that one of them was when they fought to avoid relegation with Cruz Azul.

"One of the worst moments was when we were fighting against relegation. It was one of the worst. I had a tournament where I played half of the matches, and this is the result of hard work. Being in a good moment, it has been the consistency over all these years. I can't mention just one, but all the moments where I've been consistent," he said.

Finally, 'Cata' mentioned about the game against Tigres that he liked the team's performance and they are already thinking about the second leg, although they imagine a tied score without goals to do a good job.

"This is step by step. We took a big step yesterday, but we haven't won anything yet. The second leg is still remaining, and we live in the present. We work day by day to achieve our goals. We will approach the next match as we did yesterday. It's four halves of 45 minutes, as Robert says. We know that in the playoffs, everything can change in just one half," he concluded.
