'Chofis' recovered in time for the National Classic against América and is already training with Chivas at Verde Valle
Chivas returned to training on Monday at the Verde Valle facilities to prepare for the National Classic against América, a match that will be part of Matchday 11 of the Guard1anes 2020. Víctor Manuel Vucetich will be able to count on Javier 'Chofis' López, who trained normally with the first team, after being absent due to gastrointestinal problems for the match against Necaxa.
The Chivas youth player has only played 66 minutes with the red-and-white shirt in this Guard1anes 2020. He has participated in five matches, all as a substitute, and the match in which he played the most minutes was in Matchday 6 against Toluca, in which the team from the Pearl of the West lost by a minimal difference.
Everything seems to indicate that Chivas will have a full squad to face the team led by Miguel Herrera, since this week, and following the good results obtained by the red-and-whites, no player from the first team was sent to train with Tapatío, Guadalajara's affiliate in the Liga de Expansión MX.
Coronavirus tests will be carried out on Tuesday to rule out any positive cases within the team, a situation that resurfaced over the weekend with teams like Atlético de San Luis, Cruz Azul, and Xolos.
Another player who will be available to Víctor Manuel Vucetich for the match against América will be forward Ángel Zaldívar, who trained with the team last week but did not travel to Aguascalientes.
The national classic will take place on Saturday at 9:00 PM at the Azteca Stadium. Despite the inconsistency shown by both teams, the Eagles are currently in fourth place with 20 points, and Chivas, who has already changed coaches in the Guard1anes 2020, is in fifth place with 15 points.
