Dinneno and Gignac fight this weekend to be the top scorer as they are tied in the goal scoring table
MEXICO -- Juan Ignacio Dinenno and André-Pierre Gignac will clash this Saturday when Pumas visit Tigres on matchday 6 of Guard1anes 2020. Both forwards are tied for the lead in goals, and this game is the perfect opportunity for one of them to pull ahead in the fight to be the top scorer of the tournament.
In the battle to be the top scorer, Dinenno has a slight advantage over Gignac. The Argentinean forward's scoring average is just better than the Frenchman's, who is not far behind in terms of goal scoring since Pumas' debut in Mexico.
The player from the capital team made his debut in matchday 3 of Clausura 2020 and since then has played 13 games for 771 minutes and scored nine goals, leaving him with an average of one goal every 85.66 minutes.
On the other hand, Gignac, who is already Tigres' all-time leading scorer, has played the same 13 games since Dinenno's debut and has accumulated 1,157 minutes with 13 goals, giving him an average of scoring every 89 minutes.
Based on these statistics, Dinenno has a higher probability of scoring against Tigres and pulling ahead in the individual scoring table, where he is currently tied for first place with Gignac with five goals each.
"Forwards score goals, and if Dinenno scores, that's why he's there. If Juan saved us, that's his role on the field. It's not that all the bad things that Dinenno does save us," said Andrés Lillini, Pumas' head coach, after the match against Juarez in matchday 3 of this tournament, about whether the Argentinean forward always saves the team's games.
Tonight, at Estadio Universitario, both forwards will experience a clash of titans in the quest to establish themselves as the tournament's top goal scorers.
