Facundo Waller, Pumas reinforcement, arrived in Mexico City from Uruguay on Sunday
MEXICO CITY -- Facundo Waller, Pumas reinforcement for the Guard1anes 2020, arrived in Mexico City on Sunday afternoon to join the university team, where he arrived on loan for one year with an option to buy.
It is expected that in the first hours of Monday, Waller, coming from Plaza Colonia, will go to La Cantera to take the respective medical examinations, as well as the PCR to rule out any COVID-19 contagion and thus be considered for the first team, currently under the interim direction of Andrés Lillini.
Facundo Waller, 23 years old, has spent his entire career with Plaza Colonia in his country, with whom he participated in two editions of the Copa Sudamericana.
Waller has been considered for the youth national teams of his country, including his participation in the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup and the latest edition of the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament.
The South American becomes the second reinforcement for the university team in the Guard1anes 2020, as they had only incorporated Alfredo Talavera for the first team, who arrived at the institution after his time at Toluca to be in charge of the goal of the auriazules in the first three rounds of the championship, a position previously held by Alfredo Saldívar, now goalkeeper for the Diablos.
Pumas have started the tournament with two wins and one draw. The felines debuted with a 3-2 victory against Querétaro, then defeated Atlas away and finally rescued a point with a 1-1 draw against Juárez, a rival that played with two men less for most of the match.
The felines will start the double matchday next Wednesday against Monterrey at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario and on Saturday, they will visit the Kraken, home of Mazatlán, a debutant team in the Liga MX.
