Jesús Ramírez accepted the team's intentions to sell players, but due to the poor economic situation it was not convenient.

The sports president of Pumas, Jesús Ramírez, accepted that they tried to make some sales in the market, but the economic situation that all teams are facing caused them to back down.

In an interview with Futbol Picante, the executive mentioned that all clubs offer long-term payments, which was not convenient in any way. "We thought that maybe we could sell a player who could bring us some money economically, but the market has been hit, not only in Mexico, but also in the world it becomes complicated," he said.

"It doesn't do much good to get rid of a player for a little money and we made an effort not to dismantle ourselves," commented the former player.

Ramírez mentioned that Pablo Barrera and Ignacio Malcorra were part of the plans for the Guard1anes 2020 tournament, but they did not accept what they were offered.

"In the case of Barrera and Malcorra, their contracts ended and offers were made to them that they did not accept. We have to look at the youth academy players and with this expansion league and bring back loaned players; and it will be a complicated tournament," he said.

In addition, he acknowledged that the team will be affected throughout the semester by closed-door matches.

"We must definitely address the economic part because there will be no income again and we are not a normal club. Economically, it affects us because we do not have the income from fans entering the stadium, we did not have any of that," he commented.

In the face of this situation, he expressed that "we must remain as a united and solid team," he said in an interview.

However, he assured that they have the pieces to compete against the top teams on the field.

"Those big figures make a difference in important moments, but I believe we have goalscorers like Carlos González or Ignacio Dinenno," concluded the executive.
