MEXICO -- Despite the alleged interest from clubs like America or Chivas, Aldo Rocha will stay at Mazatlán FC (formerly Monarcas Morelia) for a while longer.
The general director of the newly relocated club, Mauricio Lanz, confirmed to ESPN that he has reached an agreement with the 27-year-old midfielder to renew his contract for four more years. This summer, Rocha sparked great interest from several teams, including the two giants of Mexican football, as well as Pumas and Atletico San Luis.
"Regarding Aldo Rocha, we want him to stay on the team, he will stay. He has a valid contract but we have renegotiated a new contract with him because we believe he deserves it and has earned it. So the truth is, with Aldo, our intention is for him not to leave the team," said Lanz in a video call interview.

"We signed for four years, we are already in agreement, we are just in the process of signing and finalizing the details, but we are settled."
The executive assured that Rocha was not only the best midfielder in the Liga BBVA MX but also the best player of the last tournament, which was concluded after 10 matches due to the coronavirus. In fact, Gerardo Martino had included Rocha in his call-up for the March FIFA Date, which was also canceled due to the health crisis.
"Let him continue considering him for the Mexican national team, don't stop watching him, and it's good that you mention it. Aldo is very clear about it. He told me himself and we discussed it during the preseason. He said, 'I want to be in the national team, and I will be in the national team. I won't give up, and the only way for them to notice me is by performing well here.' So Aldo is very clear about it," Lanz affirmed.
