What many would consider a step back in his career, for Marcelo Barovero is an adventure. The new player for Burgos, from the Spanish Third Division, talked about his arrival at his new club and explained that he chose this proposal because he is very motivated to help the club achieve their goal of qualifying for LaLiga SmartBank, the Second Division.

Initially, the goalkeeper admitted that he wasn't interested in returning to Argentina despite the offer from Huracán and that he had another offer that seduced him. "Moving to Spain is an option that I liked, and my family as well," he said on the program Super Fútbol.

"Football is a medium that has opened many doors for me, and now it's opening this for me. I'm starting a new commitment, it's what I wanted, what I was looking for, and I'm happy. We are pleased with this decision," said the goalkeeper.

Furthermore, he stated that he feels very comfortable because Antonio Caselli, a fan and former River Plate executive, is the owner of the club. In addition, other River players are also rumored to reinforce the team.

"Having familiar faces helps, and the fact that they want to bring in Leonardo Pisculichi gives me a lot of desire to face the next season. We have a very good relationship," concluded the former player of Rayados de Monterrey.
