The former Mexican footballer Pavel Pardo regretted the disappearance of the Ascenso MX, however, he also understands that it was a necessary measure due to the economic deficiencies that existed in the previous second division.

"Many clubs were financially unsustainable, so much so that there were few teams in the lower league. So, you also have to understand that part, understand that if there are entrepreneurs and people who want to invest in football but also want to see healthy finances, then in the end in order to have a solid league and be able to support other leagues like the promotion and second division, you have to have a very solid structure, especially in the commercial and financial part. We all want the promotion league to be fine, but let's also see the conditions and how many players in a promotion league do not get paid or have problems with payments," Pavel expressed to ESPN.

Pardo believes that this measure of eliminating relegation can financially strengthen the Liga MX and put it on par with the best leagues in Europe.

"In Germany or in Italy, when the teams were going through difficult times, they all made a restructuring and that restructuring takes time, obviously it's not easy, first for the players because many who have their job and profession will be out of promotion but I also believe that giving those who invest in the promotion league or in the Liga MX that security that you're going to have a league that will be financially stable is very important," he said.

Finally, the two-time Mexican World Cup player said that in order to achieve the financial consolidation of Mexican football, the television rights of the clubs must be better managed.

"I think if the league is put up for auction in the television rights, they would earn a lot as it can happen in other leagues, that's where I think it would be best for the league and also financially for the other teams, especially for the smaller clubs or the teams that are in this case in the promotion league," he explained.

"Let's say you put the package of the Liga MX and the broadcaster, no matter who it is, comes and pays a certain amount, from there you can allocate the money according to the income and distribute it equally as it happens in Spain, as it happens in Germany or as it happens in the Premier League," he concluded.
