The second division, through a statement, made known its position on the latest events.

The Ascenso MX stated that the decisions being made for the future of the division are due to "current health and economic conditions forcing us to seek solutions," even without officially announcing that the current championship will be canceled, something that is imminent.

In the statement from Ascenso MX, they assured that they are "working to fulfill all economic commitments with employees and suppliers and, of course, fulfill the responsibilities acquired with the players."

In the same report, it is acknowledged that multiple work meetings have taken place with the 12 Ascenso MX clubs. It has been revealed that in these virtual meetings, a vote was requested to decide whether the current championship would be canceled and also whether the second division league would continue under the same format.

Some clubs in the Liga de Ascenso MX have already informed their players that the current championship will not continue and also acknowledged that the second division may possibly become a Development League.
