Santos and Krasnodar join forces to go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to demand compensation from Pachuca for the irregular signing of Peruvian player Christian Cueva.
According to the Brazilian newspaper Globo Esporte, Santos was supposed to pay one of the three installments for the transfer of Christian Cueva to the Brazilian club to Krasnodar, but this was never done because the Peruvian midfielder is no longer in Brazil. 'Aladino' left 'Peixe' and went to Mexico to play for Pachuca.
In response to this situation, Santos has communicated with Krasnodar and they have decided to claim their rights before the CAS.
"We are working together with Krasnodar. They have agreed to go to court. It's a joint effort between the two clubs' legal teams. We are waiting for a response from FIFA so we can be compensated," said Matheus Rodrigues, a member of the management committee of 'Peixe', to Radio Omega from Brazil.
After the end of Christian Cueva's loan, Santos was supposed to pay three annual installments (2020, 2021, and 2022) for a total of US $7 million, but none of them were made because the Peruvian received a special permit to play in Mexico.
