MEXICO -- Elias Hernandez scored five goals in his first tournament as a Cruz Azul player, and in the current one he has four and is the only Mexican among the top 10 scorers of the Clausura 2020.
Elias celebrated his fourth goal against Morelia in matchday eight, and he is three goals behind the leaders in that category, the Frenchman Andre-Pierre Gignac and the Uruguayan Jonathan Rodriguez, both with seven goals.
The list of the top 10 scorers is completed by the Ecuadorian Angel Mena, the Paraguayan Dario Lezcano, the Argentines Ariel Nahuelpan, Mauro Quiroga, and Franco Jara, the Uruguayan Leonardo Fernandez, and the Chilean Jean Meneses.
After Elias Hernandez, the next Mexicans are Flavio Santos in thirteenth position, and the young Eduardo Aguirre in seventeenth place in that classification.
Foreign players dominate the scoring table, but Elias Hernandez is the only one resisting.
