Darío Lezcano, a Paraguayan forward who arrived as a reinforcement for the Bravos de Ciudad Juárez in the Apertura 2019 coming from the FC Ingolstadt of the German third division, considered that the opportunity to shine with Juárez would be a springboard to other larger teams in the Liga MX.

"For me, first and foremost, the idea was to come to Juárez and do well and then see where I could go," he declared. "Now for the moment I am focused here. The fact that the team is doing well is something that benefits us all. Scoring goals helps a player do his job well. Coming to Mexico and Juárez brought me back to the national team."

Aside from the sports motivation he found in Mexican soccer, the successful story of other Paraguayan players in the tricolor soccer, served as an incentive for Lezcano to choose the Liga MX as his next destination, in addition to the fact that the border team is in the gaze of the North American market.

"Players like [Édgar] 'Pájaro' Benítez, Bruno Valdez, Pablo Aguilar, [Paulo] Da Silva inspired me to come to Mexico. The family was also a factor, but I know that Paraguayans have had a good career. I decided to come because of a competitive championship. It is always important to show ourselves, do things well, it benefits us that they see us in the United States."

The FC Juárez forward has scored four goals so far in the Clausura 2020, a tournament in which he has maintained the label of undisputed starter within the scheme of head coach Gabriel Caballero.
