MEXICO -- Pablo Aguilar, defender of Cruz Azul, was hospitalized this Saturday at the Metropolitan Angeles Hospital to undergo surgery, after suffering a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee last Tuesday during the first leg of the Concacaf Champions League Round of 16 against Portmore United.
The defender entered the hospital around 12:00 hours and later underwent surgery. Odin Vite, doctor of la Máquina, also attended the hospital and was aware of the player from the cement factory.
ESPN Digital was able to learn that the center-back will be discharged during the early hours of Sunday.
Aguilar injured himself last Tuesday in the Concacaf Champions League match, a game in which the defender had been considered a starter by Robert Dante Siboldi, but couldn't finish the match.
