Jacob Akrong, Ghanaian defender for Zacatepec in the Ascenso MX, has successfully undergone surgery after suffering a lateral meniscus injury in his right knee, which he has been carrying for five years.
The intervention was performed by Dr. Arturo Almazán, a traumatologist and orthopedist, who has operated on players from the Liga MX and the Mexican National Team.
Akrong's recovery time will be three to four weeks so that he can reintegrate into training with his teammates.
Almazán was in charge of Néstor Araujo's operation prior to the 2018 World Cup. The specialist also assisted him in his recovery process and worked alongside the national team's medical staff, led by Dr. José Luis Serrano.
