Christian Cueva was part, for the first time, of a list of Pachuca call-ups. The Peruvian midfielder was considered by Paulo Pezzolano for the match against his former team Toluca in the quarterfinals of the Copa MX, and he was seen interacting with the fans and his teammates at the concentration hotel.
This decision with Christian Cueva comes shortly after his participation with the Sub-20 team of Pachuca during the 4-1 victory against Puebla, where he was a starter and scored a brace. Now, after getting back into shape after a long break, the Trujillo-born midfielder is ready to accumulate playing minutes in professional football again.
If he plays in this match with Pachuca, it would be the first time for Christian Cueva since September 14th of last year: Flamengo's 1-0 victory against Santos. It is expected that 'Aladino' will start on the bench and enter the game in the second half.
The first leg of this Copa MX quarterfinal tie between Pachuca and Toluca ended in a 2-2 draw. Now, the 'Tuzos' of Christian Cueva will try to obtain a result that allows them to advance to the semifinals on Wednesday, February 18th at 10:10 PM (Peruvian time).
