MEXICO -- Gonzalo Pineda has been an assistant for the Seattle Sounders in the MLS for four years, during that time he has been approached by personnel from the Mexican National Team, the United States, and some Liga MX teams, including Pumas.

"Has Pumas contacted you?" ESPN Digital asked the former Chivas and Pumas player. "Yes," he responded. "We had a conversation, it was a bit of discussing where my career is at and what could happen in the future. There wasn't an offer, I have had certain approaches, but mainly just to see how things are going."

The assistant coach of the current MLS champions was developed as a player in Pumas, where he climbed through all the categories until becoming a double champion under the leadership of Hugo Sanchez, one of the idols of the club.

"Pumas is the team of my heart, but I also developed an affection for Chivas. I don't want to compromise things or put myself as a candidate, I believe that at some point an opportunity will come at those clubs, but I don't want to force anything," added Gonzalo Pineda.

The time to manage has not arrived yet as he is currently focused on obtaining his UEFA license, in order to be able to coach in Europe in case an opportunity arises, and then he will seek an opportunity at a club, if possible, either Pumas or Chivas.
