For Carlos Rodríguez, midfielder of Monterrey's Rayados, Javier "Chicharito" Hernández should be considered a legend and he always saw him as a prototype of a player.
"Yes (he can be considered a legend), for something he played in Real Madrid, in Manchester United, what always characterized him is that he was in the scoreboards, always scored goals and although he didn't settle in Madrid, which would have been the best for him, he was there for 10 years.
"He was always at a high level and he showed it, I always saw him as a prototype of a player who surpasses himself and seeks to be at the highest level, now that he made the decision (to be in MLS) only he knows why he takes it and if he is happy being here, he will know it," he said.
The player talked about the match they will have this Sunday against Pumas de la UNAM and assured that it will be difficult because the opponents will want to beat Rayados, the current champion of Mexican soccer.
"We know how the opponents are going to play against us for being the champion, they will try to show that they are better than the champion, although we didn't have preparation due to the games we had, we will have to play a smart match because it is always complicated to play there, we must be aware that it will be a difficult match, but we have the tools to bring the victory," he said.
Carlos Rodríguez expressed confidence that Monterrey will gradually improve in the Clausura 2020 in terms of performance, as they are not at the level that led them to the crown of the Apertura 2019.
