Short-term plans for Sebastián Jurado at Cruz Azul might not be to secure a starting spot in the team's goal, but rather to fully immerse himself in the process for the Olympic Games with the Mexican Under-22 National Team, especially since there is no clause in his contract that indicates he 'must' have regular activity with the celeste team.

With the context of Jesús Corona's contract renewal until 2021, and the fight for the starting spot, the 22-year-old goalkeeper puts his head in order and sets his priorities in his new squad. "Sebastián understands the hierarchy that 'Chuy' has at Cruz Azul, in fact, the goalkeeper has already renewed with the team where he is a reference," explained a source close to the former Veracruz goalkeeper.

Information obtained by ESPN Digital indicates that Jurado's goal is to be considered for the Mexican National Team that will seek qualification for Tokyo 2020, and subsequently, to be present at the event.

The Concacaf Pre-Olympic will take place in Guadalajara, Jalisco, from March 20 to April 1 of next year, and Jaime Lozano will be in charge of leading the Mexican team.

'Seba' is very excited about being in the event, so he is not in a hurry to defend the Cruz Azul goal, where he will first have to continue learning alongside Corona himself and, of course, the 'Conejo' Pérez as the goalkeeper coach in the celeste squad.

"It is not a requirement for him to play, things will gradually develop; it's not that this issue has been discussed (or a clause has been included in the contract), although from day one he will fight for the starting spot, without a doubt," the same source said.
