After Dorados de Sinaloa decided to terminate the contract of Argentine goalkeeper Gaspar Servio, the young Sinaloa player, Luis Fernando López, was chosen by José Guadalupe Cruz to receive the opportunity and face Necaxa.

Luis López is about to turn 20 years old and he has been part of the 'Gran Pez' team since the Apertura 2015, playing in the lower categories. Although he has mostly defended the jersey of Dorados throughout his career, he had a brief one-year stint in the youth divisions of Xolos.

The young goalkeeper had already made his debut in the Copa MX during the Clausura 2018, facing Correcaminos at the Marte Rodolfo Gómez stadium. The result was not what he expected for his debut as the score favored the home team, two goals to one.

His debut in the Ascenso MX came a year later in Round 8 of the regular season. López entered as a substitute after the expulsion of Gaspar Servio in the 65th minute, and two minutes after coming on, he conceded his first goal from a penalty.

With the departure of the Argentine goalkeeper, the possibility of the Culiacán-born player taking ownership of the Gran Pez's goal arises.

CULIACÁN UNITY REQUESTED

The Dorados players took to the field wearing white shirts as a symbol of peace and unity after the wave of violence that hit the city of Culiacán on the past Thursday 17th, prior to the match in Round 6 of the Copa MX against Necaxa.

With the hashtag "#CuliacánUnido" printed in golden color, the team members performed the warm-up wearing this shirt. Minutes later, right before the start of the match against the Rayos, the players took a photo wearing the white shirt.

On social media, the Gran Pez's management asked the Sinaloa fans to attend the game wearing white clothes to support the #CuliacánUnido campaign that has gained strength.
