MEXICO -- Until now, the Dorados-Atlante match is still scheduled to be played, so the chances of it being suspended are very remote, a source from the Sinaloa team told ESPN Digital, despite the constant dialogue between captains of the teams.
"The Veracruz players expect payment from the owner until 7:00 PM, so imagine if Veracruz pays and the Ascenso Liga stops play... Then we cannot act before a promise of payment," said the source.
The Dorados-Atlante game corresponds to matchday 10 of the Apertura Tournament. The match will be played at 9:00 PM at the Banorte Stadium in Culiacán.
The doubt about the dispute of the game began once Álvaro Ortiz, president of the Mexican Association of Professional Soccer Players, declared yesterday that it is not a strike, but they do expect solidarity from the players' union. At the moment, the set deadline is until tomorrow at 7:00 PM, and if there is no payment, the Tiburones Rojos will not show up to play at the Luis 'Pirata' Fuente.
