GUADALAJARA.- Chivas goalkeeper Raúl Gudiño emphasized the pressures that the red-and-white club frequently faces, such as fighting for a spot in the playoffs and avoiding relegation.

As the weeks go by, Guadalajara is moving further away from a playoff spot. After the defeat in Morelia, the team has dropped in the overall standings and the situation could become complicated if they fail to qualify for the fifth consecutive tournament.

"I believe that Chivas always has the pressure to be champions, so we can't delude ourselves or think crazy things and not feel the pressure, of course it's there. We have three types of pressure: The championship, qualifying, and relegation. That motivates us, it makes us want to overcome this, to show everyone that we are capable of achieving these three objectives that may not come around again easily. We have to think about everything that lies ahead, what we have and what we need to accomplish step by step. Chivas has three objectives, we know that it's always the championship, we have the debt of qualifying, and we have relegation. Chivas has those three, Chivas has to fight for all three. Right now, we have all three and we're going to do it," said the goalkeeper.

Despite facing a Clasico week with a match against América next Saturday at the Estadio Azteca, Guadalajara has a pending commitment this Tuesday in the double matchday against Pachuca at home. Gudiño avoids getting distracted and first focuses on the match against Pachuca before facing América.

"I'm not going to lie, we can feel it (the Clasico week against América), but we have to focus not on Saturday but on Tuesday's match at home and with our fans. It will help us gather strength and continue on the path," explained Gudiño. Chivas will train behind closed doors at Verde Valle on Monday and conclude their preparation for tomorrow's match against Pachuca.
