Oribe Peralta will go a year without scoring if he doesn't score with Chivas against Morelia next Friday in the tenth matchday of the Apertura 2019. The last time the forward scored was on September 21st against Puebla wearing América's shirt. Since that match, the Olympic champion has not been able to find the net in the 24 Liga MX matches he has participated in.

Peralta has played 1,360 minutes on the field since the last time he sent the ball into the net. On that occasion, the attacker took advantage of a series of rebounds inside the box to make it 1-2 temporarily in the 44th minute of the match, which ended 2-3 in favor of the Águilas.

After the goal against Puebla, he has participated in eleven more matches, six in the regular phase and five in the playoffs, including the semifinals and finals against Pumas and Cruz Azul respectively.

An ankle injury sidelined him for most of the Clausura 2019, as he only played in the second, third and final matchdays, as well as the quarterfinals and semifinals, where they were eliminated.

His goal drought has extended to Guadalajara, the team with which he has played six matches in the Apertura 2019, in which he has been on the field for 408 minutes, during which he has only recorded one shot on target.

Peralta has faced a total of 13 teams in search of a goal, with Cruz Azul being the opponent he has faced the most with five matches, followed by three against León, two against Tigres, Toluca, Santos, Veracruz, and Pumas, while he has faced Guadalajara, Atlas, Pachuca, Puebla, Atlético San Luis, and Necaxa once.
