MEXICO - Agustin Marchesin arrived at the Mexico City airport, and immediately several America fans approached him.
"The last autograph please," they shouted at the flamboyant Porto goalkeeper and former Azulcrema player, before heading to Portugal.
"Did you ever think about giving up on the European dream?" they asked the Argentine goalkeeper.
"I was living a dream with America, that's the reality. I said it, it's a blessing to defend these colors and I defended them in the best way. Always trying to give my best and undoubtedly the people make this institution the biggest in Mexico," commented the South American while walking towards the boarding area; he will first travel to Paris, France, and then make a connection to Portugal.
A farewell ceremony was prepared for the goalkeeper, organized by a fan group of the Eagles, but they didn't make it to the exit of the Argentine. Only two members of that bar managed to see the departure of the Argentine who won a Copa MX title, a Champion of Champions, and a Liga MX championship.
"We brought him a banner with his picture, my teammates couldn't make it, but the goal was for him to see the image before going to Portugal and not forgetting about us," said Andres alias 'Lokiyo', who had the cloth he wanted to show Marchesin in his backpack.
"When he won the Liga MX championship, he took a photo with this banner and I have it at home," he added.
Marchesin stopped for the fans before leaving. He signed as many shirts and scarves as he could, took pictures, and then focused on saying goodbye to his family. He spent a few seconds with each of them: his children, wife, father; and then set off on the path where he will change his feathers to wear the 'scales' of the Portuguese Dragons.
