MEXICO -- Salvador Cabañas says that during his time at America, the most frequent play was a clearance from Guillermo Ochoa, a header from a teammate, and a goal from the Paraguayan striker. Now, the retired footballer recommends his former teammate not to return to Mexico and to stay in European football for as long as possible.

"What I would say to Ochoa is to stay in Europe and to come back to Mexico only for his last stage, when he's about to retire," commented the current director of Cafetaleros Chiapas, from the Ascenso MX.

Guillermo Ochoa is one of the options to reinforce America, following the departure of Argentine Agustin Marchesín to European football. The Mexican national team goalkeeper hesitates to return, among other reasons, due to the insecurity in the country. Cabañas, who was shot in a bar in Mexico City in 2010, assures that he should not be afraid to play in the Liga MX.

"Honestly, no. Many people told me why I was coming back, that I would be scared, but the truth is, I'm not. Mexico is a peaceful country and idols are highly respected. I will always be grateful to the people, because thanks to them, we are idols and they respect us," added the Paraguayan.

Cabañas recalled that America did not let him go to Europe and denied that the club will be left without idols after the departure of Marchesín and Edson Álvarez to the Old Continent.

"At that time, the board did not want to let me go to Europe, there must have been a reason. We are happy, delighted to be back in Mexico and I hope everything goes well," confessed the South American. "Idols will not be lacking, because once you get there, you just have to perform well and you will go a long way, the people will appreciate that," he added.
