On the other hand, Cruz Azul won their first Supercopa MX in history after beating Necaxa 4-0, the largest margin in this instance, to add their 21st title in the club's history.

Necaxa failed in their attempt to repeat as Supercopa champions, joining Morelia as champions who lose the final the following year.
