LOS ANGELES -- It was the 55th minute of the Champion of Champions match between America and Tigres when a fan breached security at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California to enter the field.
Before a corner kick in favor of America, the fan ran into the penalty area to hug Tigres' French forward, André Pierre Gignac.
The fan clung onto the Tigres player with arms and legs until security reached her and removed her from the field. The crowd chanted for the girl from the stands while she was being escorted off the field for pulling off the feat of hugging her idol.
The match was tied 0-0 at the time of the incident.
