GUADALAJARA -- Alan Pulido, forward for Guadalajara, said goodbye to Matías Almeyda through his social media. The Chivas attacker posted two images accompanied by a message confirming that the 'Pelado' will leave his position as coach of Chivas, a decision that will be made official on Monday in a press conference.
"Today, with tears in my eyes, the best coach I've had in my career says goodbye, MATÍAS ALMEYDA. You leave as a GREAT and leave us with thousands of teachings, both in sports and in personal matters. You will stay forever in my heart and in the hearts of all the @chivas fans. Thank you for so much @peladoalmeyda. PS: We will miss you," Pulido's post said.
The Tamaulipas native also shared a photo with the coach, after winning the Concacaf Champions League title: "Memories that will last FOREVER."
This afternoon, there was a meeting at Verde Valle between the coaching staff and the players, where Almeyda would have informed them that he would not continue in the red-and-white bench. It is expected that tomorrow the Argentine will officially say goodbye at the press conference to be held at Estadio Akron at 6:00 pm.
