MEXICO -- Guillermo Burdisso said goodbye to Club León by not renewing his contract with the team from the bajío for the Apertura 2018 in the MX League.

The board did not renew the player's contract and he said goodbye through a letter posted on social media, where he thanked the team and the city for welcoming him during the six tournaments he played for 'La Fiera'.

The 30-year-old defender arrived at León for the Apertura 2015 and played 76 games, 72 of them as a starter, in addition to scoring six goals. The player's destination could be Boca Juniors, or possibly a club in the MLS.

"My contract with León has ended and I'm considering where I can go. If Boca comes looking for me, I wouldn't hesitate, but I know they will look for the best," he recently declared for the radio program 'Punto Boca' in his home country.
