Goalkeepers transfers and possible signings in Liga MX for Apertura 2018
In football, the goalkeeper position is one of the most complex due to the responsibility it has in defining a match; if they stop or deflect a ball heading towards the goal, it is said that they fulfilled their task, but if not, and a goal is scored against them, fans are left with the feeling that they could have done more.
All of this depends on the skill, technique, and speed of the goalkeeper. In our country, we are experiencing a season with a good batch of Mexican and foreign goalkeepers, so the transfer market is moving very quickly in order to have security in the goal.
We present you the transfers and possible signings of Liga MX for Apertura 2018.
Rodolfo Cota
After three years, the goalkeeper born in Mazatlan ended his loan with Chivas. He made his debut with the Rojiblancos in Apertura 2015, winning two Copa MX titles, the 2015-2016 Supercopa, Liga MX, and a Concacaf Champions League.
Now his future is with Club León, who already has William Yarbrough, and it is speculated that his future could be in the MLS.
Miguel Ángel Fraga
The 30-year-old Mexican goalkeeper, who was formed in Monarcas Morelia, will arrive at Pumas on loan to play Apertura 2018 with the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México, mainly to compete for the starting position with Alfredo 'El Pollo' Zaldívar.
Marcelo Barovero
The Argentine goalkeeper will arrive in Monterrey after playing four tournaments with Necaxa, where he played a total of 72 matches.
He will also reunite with his former River Plate teammates: Carlos Sánchez, Leonel Vangioni, and Rogelio Funes Mori.
Hugo González
The 27-year-old football player will arrive in Aguascalientes on a two-year loan. He was part of the operation with Argentinian Marcelo Barovero for the upcoming tournament.
González joined Rayados in 2017, with whom he won the Copa MX.
Alfredo Zaldívar
'El Pollo', 28 years old, could be close to joining the team led by Argentinian coach Matías Almeyda. Although they trust Miguel Jiménez, they do not rule out bringing in another player after Cota's departure.
