Diego Cocca
Diego Cocca was a little upset about the goal scored by the Diablos Rojos in the first leg of the Semifinal, as it came after stoppage time. However, he assured that even though it is a small advantage, taking it to the Nemesio Diez will benefit his players.
"I'm a bit frustrated because it seems like Toluca got a big reward by scoring a goal in the last play when the match was already over. They added three minutes and the goal came at 3:30. The team deserved to go 2-0. We have two results in our favor and now the responsibility lies with Toluca," he expressed.
Juan Martín Lucero
The Argentine former footballer highlighted the work of Juan Martín Lucero, who scored two goals and was instrumental in tonight's important victory, which puts them 90 minutes away from the Grand Final of Mexican football.
"We have an advantage and we are better than last week. I want to highlight the players. Lucero scored two amazing goals and had two or three clear opportunities, and he managed the game well," he said.
Although Xolos are ahead in the aggregate score, Cocca pointed out that they will not defend themselves against Toluca, they will seek to generate and play in the same way they have done at home.
"We will not go out to defend ourselves and this is a team that knows how to attack, maintain order, and keep a clean sheet. We deserved to win and we did it. The challenge is to keep playing the same way, generating opportunities, and the goals will come. The team is still evolving and I'm happy to see that it continues to evolve," he concluded.
