The Xolos de Tijuana and the Rayados de Monterrey drew 1-1 in the first leg of the Liga MX Quarterfinals, which was played at the Estadio Caliente.

Monterrey saved at the end of the match and achieved a valuable 1-1 draw against Xolos de Tijuana, in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Clausura 2018 Tournament of the Liga MX that took place at the Caliente stadium.

The Colombian forward Dorlan Pabón opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a long shot, while the Uruguayan José Ignacio Rivero scored the equalizer from a set piece in the 53rd minute, a result that gives an advantage to Monterrey who will play the second leg on Saturday.

Just when Xolos were playing better and in the most difficult moments for Monterrey, Dorlan Pabón took a long shot without thinking and defeated Lajud for the 1-0, with which they went to halftime.

Diego Cocca's players had the obligation to improve in the second half and they performed well at the beginning of it. It was in the 53rd minute when José Ignacio Rivero accurately hit the ball from a set piece, impossible for Hugo González, and thus equalizing the score to 1-1.

The goal gave confidence to the Xolos players and they knew it was time to capitalize on it, but they lacked the final touch and accuracy in the finishing. José Rivero and Leandro Bou tried and came close to scoring, but Monterrey escaped and came out with a positive result.
