Osvaldo Martinez said that the mentality at Santos is to go for the three points at Estadio Azteca and have a good end to the season.
The former América player pointed out that for his team, this Saturday will be a great opportunity to finish the regular season in the best way.
"The playoff matches are very difficult, the Liga MX has become very competitive and any team that enters the playoffs will put up a tough fight."
"It will be a practically playoff-like match, because we know that América is a great team, they have very good individual players from midfield forward. It's the same for us, not winning two games will determine the outcome of the duel. We both need to finish at the top of the table and we will be looking for second place, the team's idea and mentality is to go for the three points."
The Paraguayan footballer expressed gratitude for his past at the América institution, however, he assured that he is fully committed to the Santos Laguna jersey.
"I am very grateful to the people of América for my past. Now I try to live my present with Santos Laguna, thank God things have gone quite well for me here, we hope to bring home the three points from Saturday's match."
Regarding the team's spirit, Osvaldo mentioned that the team's mentality is to take it one step at a time, try to finish well on Saturday against América at the top of the table.
"We know that in the playoffs, any team you face will be difficult, both matches will be played like a Final," he pointed out.
He highlighted the complexity that facing the Fiesta Grande represents, due to the parity that exists between the teams.
