With one matchday to go, there are three spots available for the Liguilla and eight teams with mathematical chances to secure one.
Here we explain step by step what these teams need to advance to the next round of Clausura 2018.
PUMAS
If they win: They qualify.
If they draw: They need Morelia, Xolos, Pachuca, and Necaxa to not win their matches.
If they lose: They need Pachuca to not earn any points, Morelia and Tijuana to lose, and Necaxa to at least draw in their match.
MORELIA
If they win: They qualify.
If they draw: They need Pumas to lose, Tijuana to draw, and Pachuca and Necaxa to lose or draw.
If they lose: They require Pumas and Xolos to also lose, Pachuca to draw or lose, and Necaxa to not earn more than one point.
XOLOS
If they win: They qualify.
If they draw: They need Pumas and Morelia to lose, and Pachuca and Necaxa to draw in order to advance.
If they lose: If Pachuca, Puebla, Cruz Azul, and León do not win, a draw for Necaxa will take them out of the playoffs zone.
PACHUCA
If they win: They need Pumas, Morelia, or Xolos to lose or draw their matches.
If they draw: They need Pumas, Morelia, and Tijuana to not earn any points in their matches.
If they lose: Eliminated.
NECAXA
If they win: They advance if Pumas, Morelia, or Xolos lose or draw their matches (goals in favor benefit them).
If they draw: They need Tijuana to lose and Puebla and Cruz Azul to draw or lose.
If they lose: Eliminated.
PUEBLA
If they win: They must win by a large margin and hope for Pumas, Xolos, and Morelia to lose, as well as for Pachuca to not win and Necaxa to not earn more than one point.
If they draw: Eliminated.
If they lose: Eliminated.
CRUZ AZUL
If they win: They need Tijuana, Pachuca, and Necaxa to lose, as well as for Puebla to not earn more than a draw.
If they draw: Eliminated.
If they lose: Eliminated.
LEÓN
If they win: Their mission is impossible, although they still have mathematical chances. They must score 17 goals and hope for Xolos, Pachuca, Necaxa, Puebla, and Cruz Azul to lose.
If they draw: Eliminated.
If they lose: Eliminated.
