MEXICO -- The midfielder of Atlas, Juan Pablo Vigón, assured that the members of the rojinegro squad will offer their unrestricted support to the Mexican Association of Professional Footballers (AMFPro), in the face of the request made to the Mexican Football Federation and the Assembly of Owners, to overthrow the "Pacto de Caballeros" (Gentlemen's Pact).
"I just found out about that. I support that union and as a footballer, I support my teammates. I'm not well informed and I support it," said the midfielder, being careful with his words.
One thing he emphasized with every articulated word was when he was questioned in depth about the Gentlemen's Pact. He said he does not know it in depth, does not know what it is about, and much less admitted to having experienced a situation in which such a clause was involved.
"It hasn't happened to me. I believe that as long as things are like this, I would like to do things right. No one wants to fight, fighting is not the way to achieve your dreams. Whether the pact is eliminated or not, the players with enough experience will know how to support and we will be happy with whatever is decided," he concluded.
ABOAGYE WANTS MÁRQUEZ TO CONTINUE WITH THEM
The Ghanaian midfielder of Atlas, Clifford Aboagye, stated in a press conference that "he would like Rafael Márquez to stay with us for a long time," in the face of the growing rumors that take the historic footballer away from the pitch.
"We know the importance that Rafa has because of his leadership. As a player, I would like to continue with him, with his experience," said the African.
However, he rejected the commitment of having to ask him to reconsider his future as a footballer, as it will be a situation that he will have to decide, together with his family.
"I believe that it is part of his decision, but as I said, I would like to play with him, with his experience and leadership," he concluded.
Márquez still has a way to go on the field, as the national coach, Juan Carlos Osorio, has acknowledged that he is considering him for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, as part of the player roster, and after the World Cup, that's where he would put an end to his career.
