MICHIGAN, United States,- 70-year-old William Strampel, former boss of Larry Nassar, has been arrested by US authorities and faces the same charges of sexual misconduct and negligence in the performance of duty.
William Strampel, a physician and former dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University, has been in custody since Monday and faces the same charges as Nassar for failure to properly supervise the doctor who is serving a life sentence.
Nassar was accused of abusing hundreds of female athletes at the University of Michigan, where he worked at the Sports Medicine Clinic, and of other girls and women while serving as the doctor for the US gymnastics team.
As far as we know, the criminal complaint against Strampel accuses him of sexual misconduct, misconduct by a public official, and two charges of "negligence in the performance of duty."
The investigations in the case led to his arrest and if found guilty, he could face a maximum sentence of nine years in prison.
Among the accusations, Strampel has two, he is accused of touching two women at public events and making inappropriate comments or suggestions to students, including requests for nude photos.
Images of naked students were found on a computer in his office.
