Julio César Furch recognizes that achieving the double this semester is a dream that Santos Laguna maintains, although they must first overcome the difficult obstacles step by step.
Being leaders in the League and classified for the semifinals in the Cup, Furch commented on that possibility.
Julio Furch is calm, the goals are starting to come and although he doesn't have the same quota as last season, his participation in some goals of his teammates makes it noticeable.
"It's a dream that we are creating, obviously we think about that at the beginning of the season, it would be spectacular for everyone, we are going for both and we will fight, because our illusion is there".
"I trust in what we do, there are players to fight on both fronts, in the Cup there are two games left and in the League there are more, if we reach the playoffs it is a separate tournament, we believe we can aim for both titles," he added.
The forward pointed out that they are preparing for what comes next, which is Puebla, a team that makes itself felt at home, with a coach who is well known in the league for the way he makes his team play. "We have to be very careful, we come with a good mood and it will be a good spectacle".
"It will be difficult, they (Puebla) handle the ball very well, they have caused surprise away from home, so we have to be careful. We come with a lot of consecutive matches, I think we have to manage our strength," he explained.
Furch highlighted Puebla's defense: "Although it is a line of three with two wingers who defend a lot and a defensive midfielder who doesn't move much, it will be tough. We have known how to attack with a line of three or four, we have always created scoring opportunities in most of the matches, so we have to take advantage of the few opportunities we generate, as we did against Necaxa."
THE ABSENCE OF DJANINY
Julio sees with optimism the fact that Santos continues to produce offensively despite Djaniny's absence.
"I think that being in first place in the standings any mood is good for everyone, maybe I haven't contributed as many goals as last season, but I am happy to see the team up there, the work that is being done. A very good entity has been created," he said.
"There, Jonathan (Rodríguez) didn't have much playing time in the league, but we know his qualities, what he can score and what he has contributed, we trust in him and we knew that Djaniny's absence would be tough, but we had to draw a little more strength from our part to try to demonstrate on Sunday and win a crucial game for us and the fans, as it was against Rayados," he said.
He pointed out that Santos is a team where everyone is working very well, doing a good job in the cup as well, with those who don't play in the league.
"We have to be prepared because they may have to play, like Jonathan, that shows the work of the coaching staff in having everyone prepared to be ready when they are needed."
