MEXICO -- Argentine defender Emanuel Aguilera and Ecuadorian forward Renato Ibarra returned to training with Mexican football club América on Monday, fully recovered from injuries that kept them off the field.

Aguilera, a key player in América's defense under coach Miguel Herrera, suffered an edema that prevented him from playing in América's 4-0 victory against Panamanian team Tauro in the Concacaf Champions League last week, as well as their 2-0 win over León in the Clausura tournament on Saturday.

Ibarra also missed those matches due to muscle discomfort, but on Monday both players showed clear signs of recovery and are available to play against the Panamanians in the second leg of the quarterfinals of the North, Central American and Caribbean championship.

With the return of both players, América has a fully fit squad for the regional competition and for the match against Toluca next Saturday in Round 12 of the Clausura.

With five wins, six draws, and 21 points, Herrera's América is currently in second place in the Clausura, just two points behind Santos Laguna.

After the match against Toluca, América will have a two-week break due to the national team's fixtures for the FIFA international break, and will return to action on March 31st as they host Cruz Azul for their third consecutive home game in the league.
