Atlas Guadalajara to honor Guillermo del Toro at Estadio Jalisco

The Atlas Guadalajara wants to personally recognize Mexican film director Guillermo del Toro, who won the Oscar for Best Director and Best Picture and has also hinted at his passion for the red-and-black team.

According to ESPN, the filmmaker will be invited to Estadio Jalisco between matchday 13 and 15, where he will receive a tribute and a jersey as a distinguished fan of the club, which would be presented by two symbols of the institution such as Rafael Marquez and Pavel Pardo.

On one occasion, Jalisco native Guillermo del Toro responded on Twitter to a fan who insisted on knowing which soccer team he supported; the director denied being an America fan and said that he had sympathized with Atlas at some point.
