Penalty drama for Nicolás Sánchez in 'Rayados'
For Nicolás Sánchez, the penalty issue in 'Rayados' has become a whole movie, in which he became the protagonist last weekend. The South American clarified what happened in the game against Atlas, a match where Monterrey won 1-0 with his penalty goal, but where Stefan Medina had already missed a penalty, making it clear that he wanted to take the shot.
"It was my mistake to go for the ball, but well, when I looked at Antonio (Mohamed), and he pointed at Stefan, who was in charge, I understood and left", confessed the 'Rayados' defender.
However, Monterrey had a second opportunity, which the Argentine did not waste to give victory to his team: "After everyone showed their trust in me, in fact, in the second penalty Carlos (Sánchez) had taken the ball and I approached him and told him that I had complete confidence in him, but that I felt very confident in taking it.", Sánchez stated to the media.
Continuing on the subject, the Albiazul midfielder said that if the team requires it and if he feels good at a certain moment in a game, he would not hesitate to take another penalty: "Penalties are not practiced, I am not an expert, in fact, in a regular game it is the first one I take", the South American concluded.
