Inés Melchor wins bronze at the Guadalajara Half Marathon (Mexico)
Peruvian athlete Inés Melchor achieved a new accomplishment by winning the bronze medal at the Guadalajara Half Marathon. She completed the race in a time of 1 hour, 12 minutes, and 34 seconds and was surpassed by Kenyan runners Diana Cemtau Kipyokei (1h10m00s) and Risper Biyaki Gesabwa (1h12m27s).
"It's a new experience, it's my first time here. I'm thankful to everyone who cheered me along the way. I really liked the city of Guadalajara, it's very attractive, and the people are affectionate," revealed Inés Melchor upon crossing the finish line.
Inés Melchor is continuing her preparation for the Lima 2019 Pan American Games. The national long-distance runner has the main goal of winning the gold medal in her discipline. Prior to this competition, the runner from Huancavelica ensured that these types of competitions are beneficial for her to arrive in good form for the upcoming races.
