León and Querétaro draw in the Liga MX
León and Querétaro drew 1-1 tonight at Aldamas Stadium for matchday 8 of the Clausura 2018 Tournament of the Liga MX. The team of Peruvian player Joel Sánchez, who started and played until the 71st minute, came close to achieving the feat and taking the three points, but a defensive lapse cost them the draw.
The match started off quite complicated for the 'Gallos Blancos', as they suffered the unusual expulsion of Javier Güémez in the 21st minute. The midfielder received a stamp from Osvaldo Rodríguez, but it was Querétaro's Güémez who saw the red card.
Even so, Edson Puch took charge of putting the visitors ahead with a goal from the penalty spot, towards the end of the first half.
With 15 minutes to go until the end of the match, and with León pushing for the equalizer, Álvaro Ramos found the equalizer with a header.
With this result, Querétaro, who is fighting to get out of the bottom of the Clausura and especially the Cociente Table, added nine points and is in 12th place.
Meanwhile, the 'Fiera' sits just one place above the 'Gallos', but with 11 points.

Brazilian forward Everaldo Stum, from Querétaro FC in Mexican football, recalled today that his team depends on itself to stay in the First Division and therefore should not think about the other opponents.
"We have to think about our game, not the others. We depend on ourselves and I think about León, the next opponent, not Veracruz," he said referring to the "escualo" team with which Querétaro is fighting to avoid relegation in the Clausura 2018.
In a press conference in Querétaro, the Mexican center, Stum acknowledged that his team suffered a hard blow yesterday by losing a lead and tying 2-2 at home against Guadalajara, however, that is in the past and today the players worked with their minds set on the next match, on Saturday at León's home.
"Today was another day; we have a fight against León away from home and we hope to have a good match and bring three points from there," he said.
Referring to Saturday's match, he predicted that it will be tough, but Querétaro will go for the victory.
