Monterrey's Strategist, Antonio Mohamed, Claims Just Win Over Chivas

"We did not expect such a back-and-forth match, I think it was a very good game and we were just winners. We knew that in the end we would suffer due to the workload of previous matches."

Avilés Hurtado left amid applause and this is what he mentioned:

"Also, on Wednesday he played for the Cup and scored a goal. He is doing very well, he gave us the victory and this will give him much more confidence."

The Argentine coach spoke loudly and clearly when questioned about the gap that is growing in the league with teams that invest much more in their players.

"That is the excuse that other teams give (about the quality of the squads), they minimize themselves before playing. It seems like a cheap excuse to me, it seems to speak badly of the greatness of other teams. Mexican soccer is very even and anyone can beat anyone."

Ponchito has become Don Alfonso and today he was important for La Pandilla's victory, scoring one of the goals. Mohamed referred to this and commented on the bad streak he broke in matches against Matías Almeyda playing as visitors.

"We are giving confidence to Poncho, he is in good form. Today he took a hit, a studs-up tackle on the knee, and had to leave. Hopefully it's nothing serious."

"As I always say, the players are the ones who play, recently the role of coach has taken on a very important value. We know that we are in a quite complicated position and we are being closely watched. The glory belongs to the club."

Lastly, he referred to the discussion he had on the field with Carlos Salcido.

"Nothing happened, things that happen on the field stay there. A misunderstanding, nothing more."
