Querétaro halts Tigres' perfect run with a 3-2 victory

In an exciting match, Querétaro stopped Tigres de la UANL's perfect run by defeating them 3-2 in the fourth matchday of the Liga MX Femenil Clausura 2018.

The Monterrey team arrived at La Corregidora stadium with three victories in three matches, while Querétaro had no wins in the tournament.

Both teams were ready to star in an attractive duel, and that's exactly what happened. They both generated emotions and delivered an intense match.

"Las felinas" were the first to approach Querétaro's goal, but the home team opened the scoring through María Moreno in the 22nd minute. Before halftime, Sandy Cruzado increased the lead to 2-0 for Gallos Blancos Femenil.

In the second half, Tigres sharpened their claws and quickly reduced the deficit to 2-1 with a header by Karen Luna in the 46th minute.

The northern team continued to push for the equalizer, but Querétaro extended their lead with a penalty kick by Melissa Arredondo in the 72nd minute, making it 3-1.

Tigres narrowed the result to 3-2 with a penalty kick goal by Nayeli Rangel in the 80th minute, but Querétaro held on to claim an important victory.

With this win, Gallos Blancos reached four points, while Tigres remained at the top of Group 2 and the overall standings with nine points in this Clausura 2018, the league's second official tournament.

The referee of the match was Iván Antonio López, who did his job and issued a caution to Lorena Rangel from the home team.
