If the 20/11 rule is imposed for the Apertura 2018, the Tigres' youth academy is ready to give opportunities to young players despite Ricardo Ferretti and the board being against the measure.

Colombian Francisco Meza, defender for Tigres, believes that there are young players with the ability to fight for a spot in the team led by 'Tuca'.

”Tigres has a good youth academy and from what I've seen, what I know, Mexican players who are doing well, very well, there are people coming from abroad, but there are good academy players. They implemented it in Colombia and it had good results,” he expressed.

Meza dismissed the idea that the implementation of the rule could affect the spectacle of Liga MX.

”A player cannot change much, on the contrary, the academy guys will want to give their best, at the right moment they will be given confidence to be comfortable and be able to do what they know,” he mentioned.

The rule to give game time to Sub-20 players in Colombia lasted from 1999 to 2011, producing figures like Dayro Moreno, Radamel Falcao, and James Rodríguez, among others.

WAIT A MOMENT

After playing only nine games in the Apertura 2017, Francisco Meza hopes to have more regularity to be considered by the Colombian National Team.

”It's a bit uncomfortable because I want to play, give my best to the club, I have been preparing myself, I need more continuity to be in my country's national team, they watch us closely, they know if we play or not, we hope to start and that it is the beginning of something very beautiful here," he said.
